Pregnancy & Birth

Prenatal Care

Over the course of 10 months, I offer the space to process, celebrate and monitor the health of you and your baby. I support your transformation and invite you to talk, journal, meditate, move and explore rituals in order to facilitate the work of integrating your mind, body and soul, to feel more grounded and embodied throughout pregnancy.

I offer structure, information and resources you need to feel fully informed about your options. For all points of care, we discuss the risks, benefits and alternatives, so that you can make the best decision for you and your family.

Appointments are generally 1-hour long and include:

  • Conversation and questions

  • Perinatal education and postpartum planning

  • Orders for and discussion of genetic screening, routine lab work and ultrasounds

  • Discussion of risks, benefits and alternatives of care decisions

  • Maternal and fetal assessment

  • Community referrals for wrap around care

Schedule
Though we can start care at any point of your pregnancy, we typically have our first appointment between 10-11 weeks. If you're transferring from another provider, we simply pick up from where you left off. We follow a standard schedule of care, and see each other

  • Every 4 weeks until 28 weeks

  • Every 2 weeks until 36 weeks

  • Weekly from 36 weeks until birth

Availability
I am available by phone 24/7 for urgent matters. For non-urgent matters you can email or message through a HIPAA-compliant client portal, and expect a reply within 24-48 hours (usually sooner, unless Iā€™m at a birth!).

Labor & Birth

Once labor begins, we will be communicating until it is time to go to the hospital, where we meet. I admit you and prepare your private room to be a calm and intimate space.

After we get settled in, I stay by your side as you focus on the important work of bringing your baby earthside.

I manage your care and provide physical and emotional support alongside the rest of your team, which may include the nurse, your partner, family and/or doula.

Postpartum Care

The immediate postpartum period is a tender time.

During this time, I support your physical and emotional healing and transition to parenthood. I provide basic breastfeeding support and referrals for any additional services you may need.

While this time varies widely for each person, we know that we want, need and benefit from a loving and supportive community-- even if we may not know how to ask for it or receive it. We'll work together to make a plan for postpartum during your prenatal care that may include loved ones and/or professionals.

Talking about and understanding your birth is an important piece of integrating this transformative moment into who you are. Whether that happens over the course of 2 weeks, 6 weeks or years after, I remain available to talk and connect.

Schedule
I remain on call for you until 6 weeks after the birth of your baby.

  • Day 1: I will visit you in the hospital and discharge you home once you and your baby are ready. A typical hospital stay is 24-48 hours.

  • 2 weeks: This visit can be in your home or in the office.

  • 6 weeks: Our final postpartum meeting is held at the office.
